A Challenge to the Lonely King?
You write in verses, old, lamenting
Scribed upon pages yellowed like aged skin
How venerable you have become!
Yet, lost in your archaic tomes,
You seem to have forgotten...
We heroes never die!
Perhaps our cloaks of ink and shadows
Have fooled your primeval eyes?
Bemoan not, dear King
For we masters of the word,
Have prepared for your burning vengeance!
Our hands bear calluses
Pens wielded as valiant swords!
Skin scarred with written mistakes
Fingers blackened from pages smeared...
For you,
Ourselves we have changed
You dare call us fragile?
We have stained our souls, dark...
Bleeding the ink in which we write.
So be assured
We have p
For the first time in decades, the streets of the underground city bustled with uncharacteristic vigor. Trapped deep in the bowels of the earth where the deadly rays of the scorching sun could not touch them, the inhabitants gathered around in large crowds to witness the countdown to the phenomenal event that only happened once every moon cycle.
The buzz of excitement was felt all around by rich and poor alike. All except one dusty blonde young man who gulped hard as he gathered his courage to approach the green-eyed woman in front.
“Hey.” A weak greeting given, he smiled awkwardly.
As her sharp gaze turned to meet his, she sco

Depression/Self Esteem
I'm gonna make you feel so small,
On your broken knees you'll crawl
I am your only friend
I'll destroy you in the end
Make you feel worthless, uncertain, purposeless
And I'm so fucking damn remorseless
Spend your days hiding in the dark,
The fears and guilt I feed you will hit their mark
Just one look in the mirror
On a downward spiral you'll embark
Wallowing in self hatred and pity
This emotional ride I got you on
Is gonna make you dizzy
When you're up I'll drag you down,
You'll feel empty, in sadness drown
When you're down on your feet you'll be raised
Just so I can show you it's I who holds the reigns
Nobody likes you...
You're
You're eyes
Are like a forest
So tempting to explore
It would be impossible not to get lost
In the beautiful colours
It would be impossible not to wonder
At the warm ambers and browns
It would be impossible not to fall
Into the gentle greens
I want to lose myself in them forever
Dear star please tell me,
why do you present yourself so openly?
Is it simply because you wish to share?
Or is there something hidden beneath the skin you bare.
What is it that compels you, my dearest star?
Are you happy to express?
Or is there someone you wish to impress?
Perhaps it is someone no longer there,
A longing, I think, that you could never share.
Is that why you choose to present yourself bare?
In the hope that someone might stop instead of stare:
And perhaps show you that they truly care.
I have come to understand but one fact,
humanity cannot be allowed to be human.
Freedom of thought leads to good and evil,
but when man's very nature is evil,
we receive the world of modern times.
It is said that everything is a cycle,
Sin is followed by cataclysm,
and cataclysm brings enlightenment.
Enlightenment brings progress,
progress bring comfort;
and comfort leads us back to sin.
Such is the infinite cycle of humanity,
For man was never made to lead man.
And if that is so then I choose to reject the cycle,
For I alone shall rise above man.
And you will know me as Fear...
I've been living a peaceful life for so long,
I forgot that I'm living on borrowed time.
The blood on the tissue paper,
the handkerchief, the cloth--
It's a reminder that I'm already owned.
And I can hear them calling for me,
through the walls and through the windows,
in the mirrors and in the shadows,
beasts wishing to feast, on this flesh that is me...
She threw me away one day,
like an unwanted doll.
So I built a kingdom,
unwanted and all.
And all the little dolls became the king's men;
for we would never allow ourselves to be unwanted again...

My Heart is Still Foolish
I remember the day that you broke my shield
and left me feeling as though I'd have rather died.
In those moments of emptiness and pain,
it was only your mocking laughter that remained at my side.
And thus I wandered aimlessly,
I can't recall for how long,
but I could tell I was barely living,
though I tried to remain strong.
And with time I found new companions,
new adventures and new worlds to explore,
Though I felt that you had closed me off,
your actions opened a brand new door.
Yet while I was enjoying this new success,
It seems you were not quite at your best.
I saw you surrounded that day on the hill;
it was then that I swallowed r
